Presentation de l'équipe

The research developed in the team is especially concerned with the processes involved in the organization and quality of care at the hospital. Decision making is also a keyword frequently associated with our research. Synergetic objectives of the team include documenting the current situation, exploring hypotheses for improvement, and guiding research or public decision in several issues.

Research involves various methods, often combined:

- Epidemiological / statistical methods (e.g. randomized trials),

- Modelling (e.g. cost-effectiveness modelling),

- Information systems (e.g., use of databases already available, specific software developments).

A part of our research concerns global organization while other parts of our research particularly focus on a process or an intervention at a specific timing of the hospital stay: admission, hospital stay strictly speaking, or discharge.

Many past, current, and future research concern intensive care, including for example, the volume-outcome relationship, the prescription of chest x-rays in ventilated patients, and admission of elderly patients in the intensive care unit. Recent projects are more concerned with adverse events, and some of them are especially related to adverse drug events.

Details on the past/current research according to some of the above-mentioned characteristics of our research are below:
